Anointing Oil by Oil of Joy
Anointing oil is used in churches and homes to pray over the sick, set something apart for God, and bless people and places. Oil of Joy is our line of anointing oils, holy oil, and balms for pastors, ministry leaders, church staff, and anyone who keeps oil on hand for prayer. Many people reach for it because of James 5:14, which says to call the elders of the church to pray over the sick and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.
Choose from 14 scents, including Frankincense and Myrrh, Rose of Sharon, hyssop, spikenard, and unscented, in sizes from a 1/3 oz roll-on to 32 oz refills. Churches and ministries can order multi-packs and display assortments, and stores can order wholesale.

Anointing Oil Uses
In scripture we see anointing oil used in a variety of ways
Prayer & Healing
Anointing oil is associated with healing in the New Testament. James 5:14 encourages believers to, "call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord."
Consecration
God instructed Moses to use anointing oil to consecrate Aaron and his sons as priests, setting them apart for their sacred duties. The act of anointing with oil was a sign of the person being dedicated to God's service.
Blessing
Joshua declared that he and his house would serve the Lord. His declaration can serve as an example for dedicating your home to God’s purposes and invoking His blessing upon it.

Questions about Oil of Joy
The “Oil of Joy” is a specially formulated anointing oil from Swanson Christian Products, inspired by biblical references to anointing oils used in scripture. It is a blend of natural oils, infused with a rich, aromatic fragrance meant to invoke the joy and presence of God, as described in passages such as Psalm 45:7 and Isaiah 61:3. It is used in spiritual practices to bless, heal, or dedicate individuals or objects.
Anointing oil is mentioned multiple times throughout the Bible as a sacred substance used for consecration, healing, and blessing. In the Old Testament, it was used by priests and kings (Exodus 30:30, 1 Samuel 16:13). In the New Testament, Jesus and the apostles used anointing oils to heal the sick and bring about spiritual healing (Mark 6:13, James 5:14). The “Oil of Joy” specifically reflects the joy and gladness associated with the anointing of God’s Spirit.
Anointing oil is traditionally used for:
- Personal Anointing: Applied on the forehead or hands, often accompanied by prayer for spiritual strength, healing, or blessing (James 5:14).
- Blessing Objects or Places: Used to consecrate or dedicate an area or object for God’s purpose, such as anointing a home or a church altar.
- Healing Prayer: Used when praying for the sick or afflicted, symbolizing God’s healing presence.
Anointing oil is traditionally used for:

- Blessing Objects or Places: Used to consecrate or dedicate an area or object for God’s purpose, such as anointing a home or a church altar.
- Healing Prayer: Used when praying for the sick or afflicted, symbolizing God’s healing presence.
The “Oil of Joy” takes its inspiration from several scriptures that associate anointing with joy, such as Psalm 45:7: “You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” The oil symbolizes God’s anointing bringing joy, peace, and gladness, especially in times of difficulty or sadness.
Yes, anointing oil is often used in prayer for healing. The Bible mentions anointing oil in the context of physical, mental and spiritual healing (Mark 6:13, James 5:14). While the oil itself doesn’t heal, it serves as a point of contact for faith and prayer, symbolizing God’s power and healing presence.
The “Oil of Joy” can be used in a variety of ways, including during daily personal devotions, prayer, or worship. It is a meaningful tool to help create an atmosphere of prayer and connection to God. However, it is most commonly used in specific moments of spiritual need, blessing, or dedication.
“Father, I ask that you bless this oil and use it to bring joy, peace, and healing to my life. May your Spirit fill me and guide me, in Jesus’ name.” Faith in God is the most active ingredient in prayer for healing.
Yes, Swanson Christian Products’ “Oil of Joy” is formulated with safe, natural ingredients designed for topical use.
