Spreading the Gospel with Money Tracts

Sharing the gospel is one of the greatest callings we have as believers. While there are countless ways to spread the good news, one practical and creative tool many Christians use is gospel tracts. Our money tracts are small, paper tracts designed to look like currency, grabbing attention and offering a powerful message of salvation. They are not the same size as money and should not be used as money, but using them well requires care, respect, and a heart for genuine connection.

What Are Money Tracts?

Money tracts are gospel tracts designed to resemble US dollar bills of different numbers from 5 to 100 with the intent of drawing curiosity.

They’re perfect for sparking conversations and leaving people with something tangible to think about the gospel. From restaurant tables to coffee shop counters, these tracts can make an impact when used with the right intention.

However, we do not recommend adding a money tract as a tip without adding a real tip for a waitress or waiter.

The Heart Behind Gospel Tracts

Before using a money tract, it’s important to check our motives. Sharing the gospel is about leading people to Jesus, not trying to trick someone into believing they receive money to find it; it’s fake. Every interaction should be led by genuine love for people, a heart to share Jesus, and ideally a real conversation.

Paul reminds us in Romans 10:14, “How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” Money tracts can serve as a spark for those conversations!

Best Practices for Using Money Tracts

Here are some practical tips to ensure your efforts are thoughtful and effective:

  • Pair It with Kindness: If you’re leaving a money tract for a server, always accompany it with a generous tip. Money tracts should never replace fair payment for service.
  • Be Intentional: Choose meaningful opportunities to share, like when you’ve had a friendly conversation or a moment of connection, or when the Holy Spirit leads.
  • Start a Conversation: When the moment feels right, hand them the tract directly and simply say, “This message encouraged me, and I’d love to share it with you.” Consider sharing your personal story of how Jesus changed your life – it’s one of the most powerful ways to show others the real impact of faith!
  • Pray First: Prayer is an essential part of evangelism, so ask God to prepare the hearts of those receiving the message.
  • Be Respectful: Avoid placing money tracts in a way that could be perceived as deceptive or disrespectful. The goal is to share the good news, not frustrate or mislead others.

Additional Evangelism Tips

  • Carry a variety of different tracts for different situations.
  • Be prepared to share your personal testimony.
  • Offer to pray for the person you’re speaking with.
  • Leave space for the Holy Spirit to guide the conversation.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, the tracts are meant to start a conversation or help believers who may feel shy in beginning a conversation. There are many testimonies of people finding gospel tracts or even little Jesus figures around, and the Holy Spirit uses them to truly encounter their life in that moment!

We hope this message, and our tracts, encourage you  to continue fulfilling the great commission and making it a top priority to share the good news we are so blessed to have received!
