Whether the last year has been full of blessings or challenges or both, the start of a new year gives us a beautiful chance to reset our hearts and refocus on what truly matters: our relationship with God and the path He’s calling us to walk.

We wanted to share three prayers with you to help guide your heart and center your spirit as you enter this new season.

A Prayer for Guidance

Lord, as I enter this new year, I place my steps in Your hands. When the way ahead feels uncertain, be my light and my compass. Open the doors You have prepared, and give me the wisdom and courage to walk through them with trust and grace.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6

There’s something comforting about knowing we don’t have to figure everything out on our own. When the path forward isn’t clear, God is often working behind the scenes to show you He is working on your behalf. 

A Prayer for Peace and Protection

Father, may Your peace surround my heart and my home this year. I ask for Your protection over my family and loved ones, and that our home would be a place filled with rest, truth, and joy.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7

In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, God’s peace is a gift we can cling to. It’s not just the absence of conflict, it’s the deep, settled assurance that God is in control and He is himself our Prince of Peace.

This year, as you pray for peace, invite God into every corner of your life and home. Ask Him to protect not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Let your home be a refuge where His presence is felt and His peace reigns.

A Prayer for Renewal

Lord, make all things new. Gently release the burdens of the past year and fill my heart with fresh hope, renewed strength, and expectation for the good work You are doing.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19

God loves to bring renewal. He loves to take what feels dry, broken, or exhausted and breathe new life into it. As you pray this prayer, ask God to show you where He’s already at work and where He’s making streams in the wasteland of your life.
