Cyber Monday: Shopping with Purpose
As Cyber Monday approaches, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush for deals and discounts. But as followers of Christ, we have an opportunity to approach this day differently, to shop with intentionality, gratitude, and generosity.
The Bible reminds us:
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” ~2 Corinthians 9:7
Even in our shopping, we can reflect this principle by supporting ministries, small businesses, and resources that honor God and bless others.
Finding Meaning Beyond the Sale
Shopping can be more than just acquiring things; it can be an act of stewardship. The Lord calls us to be wise and faithful with the resources In Luke 16:10, we are reminded:
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much”
On Cyber Monday, we can make purchases that reflect our values, invest in tools that strengthen our faith, or bless those in need.
Gifts That Make a Difference
As we select gifts for friends and family, consider giving items that encourage spiritual growth, spread hope, or inspire. Whether it’s a Bible, a Prayer Shawl, or a Christian gift, your choices can plant seeds of love and truth in others’ lives.
“Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” ~Hebrews 13:16
Every intentional purchase can be a small act of worship and blessing.
Gratitude in Every Transaction
Let us also remember to give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 instructs us to:
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”
Even while shopping online, we can pause to reflect on God’s provision, and let our hearts overflow with gratitude for the many blessings He has given.
This Cyber Monday, let’s shop with purpose, generosity, and faith, keeping Christ at the center of every decision.
